Hunting
When it comes to duck hunting, there’s only one place to be – Stuttgart, Arkansas. We’re known as the “Rice and Duck Capital of the World” and for good reason. We grow more rice and harvest more Mallard ducks than anywhere else in the country.

AMERICAN WILDLIFE ASSOCIATION
Southwind Outdoors is the Arkansas Affiliate of a network of outdoor sportsman’s clubs providing club members access to private hunting land in Arkansas, as well as other states, including Missouri, Kansas, and South Dakota, for waterfowl, deer, turkey, and upland bird hunting, fishing, camping and more! From great hunting here at home to that out-of-state trip of a lifetime, Southwind and its affiliate clubs have something for everyone who enjoys the outdoors. In East Arkansas, club members have access to a variety of waterfowl properties, including Arkansas River frontage, flooded rice, milo, corn, and soybean fields, cypress sloughs, flooded timber, lakes and reservoirs, some of which are planted in Japanese millet to provide additional food supplies. Several of these properties are only a few miles from Bayou Meto Wildlife Management Areas, which helps keep more ducks in the area. Southwind has partnered with the Central Arkansas, Big Rock Chapter of Quail Forever, https://www.facebook.com/bigrockqf, in an effort to help re-establish huntable populations of quail in Arkansas. Native grasses are being re-introduced, as well as other management techniques conducive to quail are being performed on select areas of club property Quality deer can be found on many of our Arkansas properties, most of which are in the Arkansas River Delta. These highly fertile and agricultural areas provide an ample food supply and compliment the Quality Buck Management Program we utilize on some of our more promising units. Minerals, cottonseed, winter wheat, and buck forage oats on our property inside the Arkansas River Levee have helped produce harvested bucks with inside rack spreads over 18 inches and weights up to 285 lbs. For more information, visit www.southwindoutdoors.com or call (501) 537-0400.

WHITE RIVER NWR
White River National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1935 for the protection of migratory birds. The refuge lies in the floodplain of the White River near where it meets the mighty Mississippi River. Long and narrow, three to ten miles wide and almost ninety miles long, the refuge is one of the largest remaining bottomland hardwood forests in the Mississippi River Valley. The refuge’s fertile forests and three hundred lakes are interlaced with streams, sloughs, and bayous. The result is a haven for a myriad of native wildlife and migratory birds.
White River National Wildlife Refuge is one of over 550 National Wildlife Refuges in the United States. Managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service in the Department of the Interior, the National Wildlife Refuges encompass over 95 million acres of land for wildlife. In 2013, White River National Wildlife Refuge and its watershed was recognized by the Department of Interior as the second “National Blueway,” a new designation for rivers and watersheds of national significance designed to promote and conserve the economic, recreational, and natural values of healthy river systems from source to outlet and across watersheds.
